The Basic Concept

"Aliens have invaded the outer planets of the solar system and are heading straight for earth. The main character has been summoned to fend off the relentless waves of enemies and save our planet! Unlike the aliens, the players have a third dimension on their side...

"With up to two players, you can play across three different planets to defend the Earth from the hostile intruders. The aliens will continue to adapt and get stronger as each wave progresses. The player must use the third dimension to their advantage, passing through walls and avoiding them while picking up  points and upgrading their weapons. The human race depends on them!"

Developing this game concept has proved tricky but one thing that has helped a lot in developing the story is the character narrative. I use the character to explain  the appearance of a third dimension into the game. In this case, the main character is a scientist who has studied the strange third dimension extensively to the point that he has developed this ground breaking technology. This gets put to use when  the human race is threatened by the appearance of hostile invaders. 

The layout of the solar system supports the invasion and provides room for expansion on the aliens part as they advance towards earth as can be seen in the graphic provided (Stokkers, 2022). It also allows the game to have more varied gameplay through basing each map on a different planet. This simulates the human race pushing back the attacks of the aliens and gaining ground within the solar system. 

All together, I feel that I have developed a solid foundation for my game and is now ready to be built upon further.
