Importance of Data Analytics

Now that I've carefully considered all the methods of marketing my game and have developed a detailed plan for marketing it, I can sit back, relax, and watch the floods of players come rushing in as my game explodes across the internet becoming the latest trend and talking point.

If only it was this easy...marketing requires continuous attention and adjustments. As the competitive market adapts and transforms, I must do the same. In order to track the success (or demise) of my game, I will need to use analytics. This is the most useful tool to keep an eye on the rising and falling trends related to MULTI-SPACE. But why do analytics even matter?

Analytics can be used to show obvious changes in data (Sherman, 2019), for example a sudden decline in people viewing the game on the store. From their, I can track back to find a possible cause such as another similar game has just been released and is overshadowing my game. With new games rising and falling constantly, you must stay on top of the competition and change how you market or reach new audiences constantly  (Sherman, 2019). Of course my marketing strategy may work flawlessly at first, but as my reach expands to a wider target audience, the same marketing may just simply... not work. Issues like these can be quickly spotted and monitored with analytics, allowing me to make adjustments when needed.

Overall, it would be a waste of resources if I didn't utilise any analytical tools (Single Grain Team, 2017) and could potentially be the difference between not reaching my marketing targets, and blowing them through the roof!
